Dearest friend,
One of the greatest challenges in life is making decisions. Some decisions are small and simple, while others carry the weight of our future, our relationships and our purpose.
I often feel pressure to figure everything out on my own, to analyze every possibility, weigh every outcome and choose the “right” path through my own understanding, but faith teaches me a very different way.
Scripture reminds me that I was never meant to navigate life alone. God did not create us to rely solely on our own wisdom. Instead, He invites us to seek His will and trust His guidance in every decision we make.
Many times I believed that if I just think hard enough, plan carefully enough and consider every possible scenario, I will make the perfect decision, but the truth is that human understanding is limited. We cannot see the full picture of tomorrow.
Life becomes exhausting when I try to control everything myself. I am overthinking, second-guessing and having the fear of making the wrong choice. Faith means letting go of what’s weighing you down and trusting God to handle it instead. When we surrender our decisions to God, we acknowledge something powerful: He sees what we cannot see. He understands the path ahead long before we take the first step.
Seeking God’s will is not about waiting for a loud voice from heaven telling us exactly what to do. Often, His guidance comes quietly, through prayer, through Scripture, through a deep sense of peace and sometimes through wise people. Before making important decisions, we can pause and ask:
“Lord, what is Your will in this situation? Lead me where You want me to go.”
This simple act of inviting God into my decision changes everything. Instead of rushing forward with my own plans, I create space for His direction.
Faith requires humility, the humility to admit that we do not always know what is best for ourselves.
When I rely only on my own understanding, my decisions can easily be influenced by fear, emotions, pressure from others or the desire for quick comfort. Sometimes what looks like the “best” opportunity may not be the right one for our lives and sometimes the path God calls us to walk may seem uncertain or even uncomfortable at first, but God’s will is never random. His plans are purposeful and shaped by love.
When I choose His direction over my own, I often discover a deeper peace, even if the path is not the easiest one.
Walking by faith means trusting God even when the outcome is not fully clear. It means taking steps forward while believing that He is guiding those steps. Faith does not remove uncertainty, but it replaces fear with trust. It allows us to say:
God, I may not understand everything about this decision, but I trust that You are leading me.
When I live this way, decisions become less about me controlling it and more about obedience. There is a special kind of peace that comes when I stop trying to carry every decision alone. When I surrender my plans to God, I allow Him to shape my path according to His wisdom. Even when the road becomes difficult, I can walk forward knowing that I am not walking it by myself. God is faithful to guide those who sincerely seek Him.
Every decision — big or small — becomes an opportunity to trust Him more deeply.
When I seek His will first, I discover that the burden of figuring everything out was never meant to be mine. Faith has reminded me that the safest place isn’t where I want to go, but where God is guiding me.
With love,
